A unique performance of the play-within-a-play from Hamlet in front of Edwin Austen Abbey’s painting “The Play Scene in Hamlet.” Admission is free but seating is limited, so come to the gallery a few minutes early to claim a spot.Prince Hamlet, haunted by a spectre claiming to be his murdered father, tests the ghost’s words by stage managing a reenactment of this crime in front of his uncle, the new king. Unbeknownst to the audience of King Claudius, Queen Gertrude, their advisor Polonius, and his daughter Ophelia, Hamlet’s actions will soon spell death for them all.
