It is funny and violent, savage and haunting, infuriating and strangely hopeful. But quite simply, besides all that, Curse of the Starving Class really rocks. This production especially, with a live band playing before and after the show, as well as scoring the play with original rock compositions. Our show is The Cherry Orchard on LSD, Death of a Salesman on speed, Long Day's Journey... on, well, morphine. It is the American dream with a good dose of nightmare, the pursuit of happiness with the distortion turned up and the feedback on, the bastard love-child of Mick Jagger, Hunter S. Thompson, Jasper Johns, Ralph Steadman, John Wayne, and Lamb Chop.
