The Gershins Go Camping! is a play about a seemingly perfect, Type-A family that is forced to adapt to the growing pains of each of its members. Conflict arises when Mark, an OBGYN decides to abandon his respectable career to try being a writer. His wife Lily, also an OBGYN, resents his decision and the two ultimately decide to take a break. In order not to inconvenience his family, Mark temporarily moves into a tent in the backyard. Meanwhile, his two daughters, Liza and Lily, just want to be normal teenagers. The play follows the first week of the Gershin familys attempt at living inside and out. Despite the logistical efforts on Marks behalf to ease his familys transition, the adaptation into their new lifestyle proves to be a messy and heartbreaking process.
